The Cardiopulmonary Wellness & Fitness Center at County Hospital provides the southern Rhode Island community with a state-of-the-art fitness facility and a comprehensive range of ongoing prevention, wellness, and fitness programs. Our highly trained exercise physiologists and respiratory therapists work closely with you to develop a custom-designed exercise and wellness plan that's right for you. Their goal is to help you achieve your optimal fitness and health.

Rehabilitation, prevention, and support
In addition to offering intensive medically supervised rehabilitation programs for individuals with cardiac or pulmonary disease or recovering from surgery, the Center offers primary prevention and wellness programs designed to meet your needs--high blood pressure, arthritis, diabetes, weight management, and senior fitness, just to name a few. The Center is a full-service gym with treadmills, rowing machines, steppers, bicycles, elliptical trainers, strength training equipment, and more. As you begin your program, our dedicated professional staff is with you every step of the way, offering guidance, monitoring, support, and a record of superior outcomes.

Close to home, convenient hours
No matter where you've had your surgery or medical treatment, you can begin the road to recovery close to home in a modern and spacious setting. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Wellness classes and programs
A variety of classes, programs, and lectures are offered throughout the year through the South County Hospital Wellness & Education program. These include Weight Loss & Management, Diabetes Management & Prevention, and Smoking Cessation, among others.
