South County Hospital offers a variety of support groups to the southern Rhode Island community. Current support groups include cancer support groups, an adult diabetes management and support group, a pediatric diabetes management and support group, and a pregnancy loss support group. These groups are offered through the South County Hospital Wellness & Education program.

The New Mom's Club, which offers support and information to new mom's whether it's a first child or fifth, meets twice a month both in Wakefield at the Hospital. Call 401 788-1225 for more information.

Special lectures and programs
In addition to our ongoing support groups, each year there is a series of special interest lectures on a variety of topics. Recent examples include lectures on menopause, osteoporosis, skin cancer, and the latest treatments in breast cancer and prostate cancer, among others. The Bright Beginnings Childbirth Education program offers ongoing support and classes to new moms and moms-to-be, as well as to their families.
