What is CT?
CT (Computed Tomography), sometimes called CAT scanning, uses special x-ray equipment to obtain many images from different angles, which are processed by computer to show a cross-section of body tissues and organs. Each year, the Diagnostic Imaging Center at South County Hospital performs thousands of CT studies. Among the most common are CT scans of the abdomen, pelvis, chest, lower extremities, head, and spine.

At the Outpatient Diagnostic Center, your CT exams are performed by certified technologists and interpreted by experienced Board Certified radiologists. Our PACS (Picture Archiving and Storage System) allows us to maintain your imaging studies electronically, creating a permanent and easily accessible electronic record-a great benefit should you require emergency care or treatment.
