South County Hospital offers the southern Rhode Island community a wide range of diabetes education and outpatient support services. If you are living with type 1 or 2 diabetes, you know the importance of proper management and care of your disease. South County Hospital is here to give you the diabetes care, education, and support you need.

Diabetes Education
Our diabetes classes are taught by Certified Diabetes Outpatient Educators and emphasize self-management of diet, blood glucose monitoring, medications, exercise, foot care, and other key aspects of diabetes management and treatment. You may also arrange private diabetes management consultations with one of our Certified Diabetes Outpatient Educators as recommended by your physician.

Diabetes Management & Support
South County Hospital offers on-going support groups for Children with Diabetes and their Families and Adults with Diabetes and their Families. These groups are led by members of the Hospital's diabetes education team, including registered dieticians, nurses, and clinical exercise physiologists. In these sessions, you can share ideas and support with others and learn more about maintaining an active lifestyle while managing diabetes.
