The Maternity Services at South County Hospital provide the residents of southern Rhode Island with the highest quality maternity care and a comprehensive range of services in a caring environment close to home. Our birthing center offers private labor-delivery-recovery-postpartum suites, designed for you and your family's privacy and comfort. The goal of the Board Certified ob/gyn physicians and highly experienced and caring Maternity Services staff is to provide you and your newborn with everything you need to make your experience as comfortable and family-centered as possible.

Childbirth education, a tradition of excellence
The outstanding Maternity Services at South County Hospital include a comprehensive program of childbirth education classes, Bright Beginnings, which are designed to meet your needs before, during, and after pregnancy. The childbirth education classes are led by certified childbirth educators.

Women's Wing
Our Women's Wing offers you private labor-delivery-recovery-postpartum suites and is staffed by highly experienced and caring obstetrical nurses. We invite you to schedule a tour of the Women's Wing, home to the South County Hospital Birthing Center. Please call us 401-788-1225.

Baby-Friendly™ Lactation Services
The Maternity Services at South County Hospital were the first in Rhode Island to earn the prestigious Baby-Friendly™ designation from The World Health Organization for the promotion and support of breast-feeding. Hospitals are awarded the Baby Friendly designation only when independent, trained evaluators have determined that all hospital practices meet the rigorous Baby Friendly standards. We offer you a full range of lactation services, including certified lactation consultants, classes, one-on-one sessions, and a 24-hour a day "Warm Line" to offer you support and answer your questions any hour of the day.

South County OB-GYN
