Free Lecture--May 1--Busy Life or Sleep Disorder?

ctr for ortho logoOn May 1, 2008 at 6:30pm, at the North Kingstown Free Library, Dr. Anne Hebert will present Busy Life or Sleep Disorder, a lecture on sleep problems, including the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea. Sleep apnea affects twelve million Americans and if left untreated can cause serious health risks. Sleep apnea can cause and exacerbate high blood pressure, as well as cardiovascular disease. It can cause memory problems, weight gain, impotency, and headaches. And because sleep apnea sufferers are always tired, untreated sleep apnea affects job performance and puts those suffering from it at risk for automobile accidents.

Dr. Hebert is a Board Certified Pulmonologist and the Medical Director of The Sleep Disorders Lab at South County Hospital. The lecture will be held at the North Kingstown Free Library, 100 Boone Street, North Kingstown. It is free and open to the public but please call the South County Hospital Lecture Line at (401) 788-1647 to reserve a space. There will also be an extensive question and answer session following the lecture, as well as free raffle prizes!

South County Hospital Expands Lab Services

South
County Hospital recently opened a new lab facility in Charlestown to provide convenient lab services for patients in that area. The new facility is located at 4099 Old Post Road adjacent to the South Shore Family Practice. It will be open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7 am - 12 pm. No appointment is necessary. Please call (401) 364-8640 for more information. South County Hospital still maintains all of its existing multi-accredited, full-service Medical Laboratories that provide lab testing, diagnostic services and a blood lab to the residents of southern Rhode Island at four convenient outpatient locations, including two in South Kingstown, one in Narragansett and one in North Kingstown. At each of these locations, your lab results are confidentially maintained electronically, creating a permanent and easily accessible electronic record, a great benefit should you require emergency care or treatment. Additionally, if you or a loved one is homebound, South County Hospital Medical Laboratory will come to you. Ask your physician to arrange it.
